I tested positive at home
If you tested positive for COVID-19 with an at-home testing kit, you should notify your local health department right away. Below are the steps you should take.
If you test positive with any commercially-available at-home test kit you can self-report here . Inform your close contacts of your results as soon as possible, so they can quarantine and get tested.
Anyone that tests positive should immediately begin isolation.
Negative tests do not need to be reported but if someone is experiencing Covid-like symptoms and tests negative we encourage them to schedule a PCR test with MCCHD or their healthcare provider.
When will the health dept. contact me?
Universal case investigation is no longer recommended by the CDC. High priority cases may be contacted by the health department, which includes (but is not limited to) outbreaks at congregate care settings, skilled nursing facilities, and etc. The CDC's new guidance is outlined in the Prioritizing Case Investigation and Contact Tracing for COVID-19.
I need a release letter
If you tested positive at home, we are unable to provide a release letter as we cannot verify the date that you tested positive and if you tested positive at a health care provider's office, please call 406-258-3896.
